Carolina Ballet part II

This is a frame from a series I'm doing on the Carolina Ballet. This dancer injured her ankle, and is having it looked at by a UNCW trainer. I could write a real caption, but I'm fried....

Animal Shelter

Nancy Ryan, Shelter Supervisor for the New Hanover County Animal Control Services, poses in a portrait reflected in the window of a gas chamber used to euthanize dangerous animals on Tuesday, July 17, 2007. Ryan only uses the chamber for animals that pose a danger to the workers performing the process, saying, "The chamber's kind of a scary looking thing. My staff prefers to hold the animal, to talk to it, give it one last pet."

Greenhouse Portrait

Dallas Elliott poses for a portrait inside his greenshouse at his home on Lovingston Lane on Thursday, July 12, 2007. Elliott built the greenhouse from recycled windows, doors, chairs, and a chandelier. It took him three months to build, and was featured on the Azalea Festival Tour.

IPOD BABY!

This is a portrait/illustration from a story the Star-News ran on how ipods and mp3 players are giving children more options for music, especially since a lot of kid shows are putting out soundtracks. I just dig the girl's expression...

5 a.m. on the Atlantic...

So I was assigned to spend a day with a shrimping boat, starting at 5 a.m. This is the only real frame I got before I got awesomely sea sick. But it was worth it.
